Student psychologist situated in Leiden & The Hague. Both locations are very accessible and easy to approach. You are welcome to come by to discuss any problems you might have not only concerning the study but also any mental difficulties you encounter. The support offered by the student psychologist and is intended for any students, PhD candidates, guest, families or friends.
As a therapist my goal is to provide you with the appropriate techniques used in maintaining trusting relationships, and feelings of self worth. These will be tailored especially to you, while improving the quality of your life.

If you are in need of personal contact about e.g. personal problems (if you are feeling lonely or depressed, suffering from procrastination, having trouble with parents, a relationship or fellow students) and doubts about your choice of study, or just want to talk. . .
Being a student can be stressful enough, but trying to juggle schoolwork and other responsibilities while experiencing mental illness can make it that much harder. But students can work through many challenges and still perform well in their studies. The student psychologist helps and guides students with personal and study-related problems, for example, if you suffer from anxiety, depression or negative thoughts during your studies or if you can not concentrate because you are mourning a person close to you.
Not everyone experiences smooth ride towards the finish line. Everyone feels a bit out of sorts sometimes. You can notice this in various ways: from fear of failure, procrastination and problems with planning to eating disorders, stress, gloominess and even depression. Does this sound familiar? Therapy, also called psychotherapy or counseling, is the process of meeting with a therapist to resolve problematic behaviors, beliefs, feelings, relationship issues, and/or somatic responses (sensations in the body). Beginning therapy can be a big step toward being the healthiest version of yourself and living the best life possible—no matter what challenges you may be facing. Through therapy, you can change self-destructive behaviors and habits, resolve painful feelings, improve your relationships, and more.
First of all I love working with people, it is a total joy and blessing in my life. I love being able to watch them grow and diminish the pain they originally came into my office with. Life is to be enjoyed, and the pain, no matter how great can be temporary . I love being a part of giving people back their voices or control in their lives. Also, being a part of equipping people with the ability to deal successfully with future hurdles is such a joy. Finally, I value the blessings I receive by having had the opportunity to get to know my clients, and to have them in my life no matter how short that may be.
I view psychotherapy as one of the greatest investments an individual can make in themselves. I respect all those who make that investment as it takes great courage to face what can often be overwhelming life-long problems with your self-esteem, relationships, and other difficulties in functioning.
I believe in helping my clients to dig deep within to discover their own unique guiding principles. I believe that everyone has the power within to succeed and take ownership of their life in order to accomplish their goals. I will help you learn to know yourself on a deeper level - to discover your strengths and weaknesses, and to have healthier and more fulfilling relationships. I use many different treatment modalities and will adjust based on the need of the client. I believe in meeting my clients where they are at and acting as a facilitator towards positive change. I practice at two locations Leiden & The Hague.
